Hi! I hope this helps: I too got a bad infection above my pubic hairs where the stitches were, after my abdominoplasty 2 years ago. It oozed a green puss that smelled horrible!! I got a "second" opinion from another plastic surgeon while vacationing in another state, whom wanted to charge me $3500 to clean it out and repair the scar!! So I went back to my plastic surgeon (who is an EXCELLENT Dr, by the way) and he didn't charge me a dime to clean out the infection and see me every other day for two weeks, then, once the gaping TENNIS BALL sized hole in my abdomen healed, he fixed the scar so I didn't have an indentation there anymore. He explained that EVERYONE has certain bacterias on their bodies, and sometimes (but rarely) the bacteria works its way into the wound or in my case, stitches. If your doctor cleaned out all of the bacteria, and you are cleaning the wound with hydrogen peroxide and rinsing with a sterile saline water, then "re-packing" the wound, ALONG with taking oral anti biotics every day, you will not have any major problems. The scar will heal with a "dent", but if your doctor is any good, as mine was, he will touch-up the scar free of charge, and after a while, you'll forget about this bad experience from the tummy tuck, and enjoy your beautiful flat stomach!!! Good luck! :-) Kimm Manzanares - www.hotzing.com
